ADVISORY BOARD
To compliment the skills of its Executive Team, Mansat has constituted a Board of Advisors to assist ManSat and its customers in their work.
Mr. George Abbey is the Senior Fellow for Space Policy at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Mr. Abbey was formally the Director of the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, and as such was in charge of all of NASA’s Human Space Flight Programs, including the Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs. George holds both NASA's Exceptional Service and Exceptional Achievement awards and also holds the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Mr. Sune Abrahamson comes to the ManSat Board of Advisors with over thirty years of experience in the space industry. He is presently a space insurance expert advising Lloyds of London, Marsh, Aon, and various other European space insurance firms and brokers. Sune holds intricate knowledge of the satellite and launch vehicle industries, having worked as a senior executive with Arianespace, Hughes Space & Communications, and Intelsat. Sune is also a Lecturer at the International Space University. Sune’s role with ManSat is to advise on spacecraft and satellite insurance contracting, launch, and manufacture.
The Hon. John Bryant is a partner with Glast, Phillips, and Murphy of Dallas, Texas, specializing in Telecommunications Law. Congressman Bryant is a former Head of Delegation to the ITU (WRC 97) for the United States Government, and was a member of the US House of Representatives for fourteen years. John’s role with ManSat is to give advice on US Government (FCC) and ITU relations.
Dr. Henry Chasia is the former Deputy Secretary General of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). Henry joined the ITU following a distinguished career with Intelsat. Based in Geneva, Henry’s role with ManSat is to advise on matters concerning ITU relations, and its activities and operations. Dr. Chasia is also a Main Board member of Inmarsat Limited, the world’s largest provider of maritime satellite communications, and now also an Isle of Man Company working with ManSat.
The Hon. Nigel Evans MP has served as a Member of the UK Parliament since 1992. Nigel is Vice Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Space Committee, Shadow Spokesman for Constitutional and Welsh Affairs, and is a Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party. Nigel’s role with ManSat is to give advice on UK Government relations.
Mr. Mark Fullbrook is Managing Director of Parliamentary Liaison Services Ltd. He is currently retained by over 20 Members of the British Parliament as their Communications Advisor. Outside of Great Britain, Mark also has extensive experience in US, European, Russian Commonwealth, and African politics and political campaigning.
Mr. Jay Honeycutt is the former President of Lockheed Martin Space Operations (LMSO) Company in Houston, Texas, and is the current Senior Lockheed Martin Vice President for Space Exploration and Representative to NASA. Jay came to Lockheed Martin from NASA, where he was Center Director for the Kennedy Space Center. Jay holds both NASA's Exceptional Service and Exceptional Achievement awards and also holds the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Jay is also a Lecturer at the International Space University. Jay’s role with ManSat is to advise on launch operations from Cape Canaveral and on US Government relations.
Dr. Ramin Khadem is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Space University (ISU) in Strasbourg, France, and is the former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Inmarsat. Over the years Dr Khadem saw Inmarsat grow into a global mobile satellite consortium. He was part of the team that transformed Inmarsat from an international organisation to a private company, and subsequently was heavily involved in the sale of the company to private equity investors. He obtained his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and subsequently obtained his Masters and PhD degrees in Economics from McGill University in Canada. He has also received specialised training in the following topics: Time Series and Forecasting from Carnegie-Mellon, Econometric analyses of the Financial and Monetary System from MIT and the Executive Management Forum from Harvard Business School.
Mr. W. L. B. (Bryan) Stott is Chairman of the ManSat Board of Advisors. Bryan is a Member of the Isle of Man's Financial Supervisory Commission and is also the former Chairman of NatWest Offshore Limited, Coutts Offshore Limited, and the Isle of Man Bank. Bryan is also Chairman of ManSat's Board of Directors and is a co-founder of ManSat Limited.
